Preparing for a Once-in-a-Lifetime Celebration: PLUS Supports America250’s Independence Day Milestones
August 4, 2026
As America prepared to commemorate its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026 from coast to coast, PLUS Communications helped America250 develop and launch some of its signature events.
From ballparks and military installations to iconic national venues, the PLUS team helped ensure millions of Americans could participate in meaningful celebrations during the Semiquincentennial year — bringing patriotic moments to life.
Hand-Held Patriotism Across America
PLUS led the effort to distribute nearly a million America250 commemorative flags and to plan events featuring “America Waves” moments in venues across America.
Between July 3 and July 5, PLUS coordinated the delivery of 637,056 American flags to 22 locations nationwide, ensuring each activation was fully equipped in time for Independence Day celebrations.
Major League Baseball (MLB) served as a centerpiece of the effort. More than 370,000 flags were distributed to 12 MLB teams for their July 4 games, with nearly 420,000 flags ultimately reaching 15 clubs for additional dates.
Beyond the ballpark, PLUS coordinated deliveries of more than 50,000 flags each to major celebrations in Milwaukee, Fort Campbell, Boston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, helping communities across the country celebrate America’s birthday together.
Bringing Giving to the Fourth
In Milwaukee, members of the PLUS team were on-site to help lead America’s Block Party at Summerfest. The team helped introduce Giving 4th, a new America250 initiative encouraging Americans to make July 4 an annual day of charitable giving.
Celebrating the Journey of the Sojourn Flag
Another defining moment of this anniversary year centered on the Flag Sojourn 250 initiative, a traveling “flag torch relay” that went on an extraordinary journey to every U.S. state, nearly all U.S. territories, and every U.S. military cemetery overseas.
At the Library of Congress’ James Madison Building, PLUS joined America250 leaders during a special handover ceremony showcasing one of the Sojourn flags alongside the unveiling of America’s Birthday Cake. The presentation concluded with attendees reciting the Pledge of Allegiance while the Sojourn flag stood prominently on stage, a fitting tribute to the shared history and service it represents.
Looking Ahead
While Independence Day marked a significant milestone, PLUS’ work with America250 continues through the end of the year.
PLUS is proud to help transform ambitious ideas into memorable experiences, connect communities, honor American history and build excitement for one of the nation’s most significant anniversaries.
