PLUS is thrilled to have received two Holmes Report Gold SABRE awards: Best in Public Affairs with the Grocery Manufacturers Association and Best in Telecommunications with Charter Communications. We are honored to have been recognized by a jury of more than 40 industry leaders from among more than 2,000 entries. These awards are a testament to the hard work of our team and the trust instilled in us by our clients.
Best in Public Affairs: PLUS Communications and Grocery Manufacturers Association Successfully Build Support to Pass Uniform National Food Labeling Standard
Working with GMA, PLUS spent two years developing a diverse coalition of third party voices across the country to build bipartisan support in Congress for a national, uniform food labeling standard for foods made with genetically modified organisms (GMOs). With a presence in over two dozen states, more than 100,000 online advocates and the voices of thousands of family farmers and business owners, the coalition drove more than 70,000 emails from supporters into Congressional offices to lay the groundwork for the bill’s ultimate passage.
In a rare instance of bipartisan agreement, a national labeling standard that preempts a patchwork of state mandates and creates a consistent, uniform standard passed through both chambers of Congress by wide margins and was ultimately signed into law by President Obama in July of 2016. This stands as one of the few examples of major bipartisan legislation passed in years.

Charter Communications and PLUS Communications: Telling The Charter Story
To help pave the way for the company’s merger with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks and position Charter as an innovative leader in telecommunications, PLUS developed a comprehensive campaign to showcase Charter’s company culture, foster community relations and highlight the many customer benefits across the country. By highlighting Charter’s investments in consumer benefits and experience, building a strong coalition of local and national third-party advocates, and showcasing Charter’s commitments to represent the diverse communities they serve, we were able to create an echo chamber of support for the transaction’s ultimate success.
In addition to gaining regulatory approval, the campaign helped tell Charter’s story, reintroducing the company as an industry leader to D.C. influencers, third-party supporters and future customers across the county.
