June 23, 2022

RICHMOND, Va. (June 23, 2022) – PLUS Communications today announced the opening of its new office in Richmond, Virginia, a geographic expansion that reflects the firm’s continued growth since its founding. The new office, located in the historic Branch Building at 1015 E Main Street, will support the firm’s growing list of clients in Virginia and beyond. It will be led by PLUS Partner Richard T. Cullen and supported by a team of battle-tested public affairs professionals and communicators. Cullen will be joined by Chris LaCivita, a nationally renowned GOP media strategist and a partner at PLUS’s sister firm, FP1 Strategies.

“As PLUS maintains its hard-earned status as a leading public affairs, media, and digital firm inside the Beltway, establishing a footprint in the heart of the Commonwealth demonstrates our commitment to providing our clients with the personal relationships they expect and deserve,” said Cullen. “Having grown up here, I know how special the Richmond community is and am excited about the growing list of companies that have decided to invest here and throughout Virginia. Richmond’s close proximity to Washington will allow us to effectively serve clients in both locations, continuing to deliver thoughtful and strategic campaigns that drive results needed to win.”

PLUS Communications now has more than 175 employees representing over 125 clients – from Fortune 100 companies to trade associations and non-profit organizations across a wide variety of industries. Over the past three years, PLUS has been recognized with some of the communications and PR industry’s highest accolades, including being named a finalist for the Best in Public Affairs Campaign Award given by PRWeek and winning multiple SABRE Awards.

The new Richmond location, steps away from the Virginia Capitol, will be shared by a new branch of FP1 Strategies, PLUS’ sister firm and one of the nation’s most highly recognized political campaign and advertising consultancies. The Richmond team will be led by FP1 Partner Chris LaCivita, a veteran of numerous presidential, statewide and congressional campaigns, and former executive director of the Virginia Republican Party.

“On the heels of playing a significant role in Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears and Attorney General Jason Miyares’ election victories in 2021, FP1 is poised to continue winning the tough fights in Virginia,” said LaCivita. “Continuing a base of operations in Richmond will further enhance our strategic insights and our ability to secure wins for clients up and down the ballot in the years ahead.”
