Unveils Enhanced Service Offerings & Website For Growing Client List

ARLINGTON, VA – In a move that reflects its rapid growth and evolution from a boutique political and public affairs consultancy into one of the country’s leading integrated public affairs, media and digital firms, FP1 Strategies LLC today announced the launch of a stand-alone, bipartisan public affairs business called “PLUS Communications.”

The firm’s award-winning public affairs and corporate communications business will be led by more than a dozen partners, bringing a depth of experience representing Fortune 100 companies, trade associations and non-profit organizations across a host of industries.  This comes as the firm was recently recognized as one of just five finalists among communications firms across the country – and one of only two firms in the Washington D.C. region – for PRWeek’s “Outstanding Midsize Agency” award category, after previously receiving many of the highest accolades in the public affairs industry.

PLUS Communications’ new website – www.pluspr.com –  showcases the firm’s many service offerings, including campaign management, media relations, coalition building, award-winning paid advertising, cutting-edge digital engagement, litigation support and message development.  Today’s announcement also includes the launch of several enhanced service offerings for clients, including a dedicated crisis communications practice led by some of the country’s most experienced operatives and staffed by a 24-7 communications war-room and a 15-person competitive intelligence team.  PLUS will also offer clients an enhanced grassroots engagement practice that will give them access to the most active network in the country.  The partners leading this practice have previously led some of the biggest grassroots advocacy efforts in the country, giving them the relationships and know-how to communicate with and mobilize local stakeholders in all 50 states.

“Since our founding in 2011, the firm has grown steadily from three experienced operatives to more than 80 communications professionals who have fought and won some of the country’s biggest campaigns – from the ballot to the Capitol to the boardroom.  We have continued to add new staff and firm leaders that, coupled with our unique combination of campaign and public policy experience, have helped us deliver effective, winning results for our growing client list,” said Terry Nelson, a founding and managing partner of PLUS Communications.

“This is an exciting next step for our growing team and the many services we provide to clients and causes around the country.  Whether a company is facing a public challenge to its reputation, a trade association needs a comprehensive grassroots campaign or cutting-edge advertising, or a law firm needs a battle-tested communications team on its side, our team has the ability and experience to deliver immediate results,” added Danny Diaz, also a founding and managing partner of PLUS Communications.

“Our firm’s continued growth and success also reflects a broader shift in the public affairs industry in recent years from one dominated by a few big agencies, to one with nimbler, mid-size firms who can provide clients with the speed, focus and personal relationships they expect and deserve,” said managing partner Dave DenHerder.  “Whether expanding an industry’s presence, a corporation’s footprint, advocating for legislation, launching a brand or managing a crisis, it is critical to have a knowledgeable team with the experience needed to navigate any situation, and the ability to develop and execute complex messaging strategies across a variety of platforms.  Our team delivers thoughtful and strategic campaigns to ensure the results needed to win.”

In addition to its most recent recognition by PRWeek, the firm’s past public affairs awards include PRWeek’s Best in Public Affairs and Best for a Cause, and Holmes Report Gold SABREs Best in Public Affairs and Best in Telecommunications.  The firm, which was previously housed in downtown Washington, D.C., recently moved into a new headquarters occupying nearly 30,000 square feet in Clarendon, which houses its more than 80 employees among the various departments.

The firm’s award-winning political consulting work, which was recently recognized with 12 Pollie Awards and 15 Reed Awards for the 2018 election cycle, will continue separately under FP1 Strategies LLC.  Since its inception FP1 has helped elect 19 U.S. Senators, 5 Governors and 30 Members of Congress.  FP1’s past awards include Ballot Initiative Ad of the YearCongressional Ad of the YearStatewide Ad of the Year, Presidential Primary Ad of the Year (in both 2012 and 2016) and Overall Campaign Best in Show (in 20152017 and 2018).
