Around The World: A PLUS Communications Summer
August 28, 2024
Our third annual edition of the PLUS team’s summer travels is here! In between client work, the PLUS team took some well-deserved vacation time. From the Austrian countryside to the beaches of Bermuda, PLUS team members traveled far and wide this summer.
Here are some highlights from our team’s adventures.
Teagan Gara: Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Teagan and her family stayed with her dad’s high school friends and their families in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The group went fishing, off-roading up a mountain, visited the rodeo and spent time on the lake. Teagan’s favorite part of the trip was going off-roading for the first time with her brothers and her dad. She said, “it was scarier than anything I’ve ever done, but it was a really good time and we even got some ice cream after!”
Jake Edwards: Kiawah Island, South Carolina
Jake enjoyed a relaxing golf trip with his family in Kiawah Island, South Carolina! In addition to spending time on the putting green, he also soaked up the sun on the beach and went kayaking.
Jim Wildman: Meadville, Pennsylvania
Jim and his family celebrated his oldest son’s wedding in Meadville, Pennsylvania this summer. PLUS sends our best wishes to the newlyweds!
Marco Vestuti: Okayama and Tokyo, Japan
Marco had the opportunity to visit his fiancée and her family in her hometown of Okayama, Japan. They enjoyed seeing the fireworks and stargazing in Okayama and singing karaoke in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Hunter Wilson: Québec, Canada
Hunter buckled down for a weeklong bear hunting trip with his brother and cousins in Québec. They fished in the mornings at the lake and hunted in the afternoons/evenings in the forest about an hour away from camp by four-wheeler. Hunter’s favorite part of the trip was seeing a few moose and small black bears from his tree stand.
Timmy Köstenberger: Austria and England
Timmy spent quality family time with his Oma (grandma) and Tante (aunt). Timmy said, “I hadn’t seen them in about 10 years, so this trip was extra sweet. We didn’t do much exploring, but I basically got to live as an Austrian for a week and have my Oma spoil me. My favorite part was going to my Tante’s house and having her cook my Oma’s food! She has a beautiful house a little bit out in the country and she’s the best cook ever, so it was such a sweet time.”
Emily Silvia: Saratoga Springs, New York
Emily made her way to Saratoga Springs for her older sister’s bachelorette party. She had a blast (unsuccessfully) betting on the horse races.
Christian Rehder: California and Brooklyn, New York
Christian traveled to Brooklyn and then California for two weeks with friends. “We visited San Diego, Los Angeles, Yosemite National Park, Sacramento and wrapped up in San Francisco. Ate too many tacos, enjoyed every beach and comedy show we could, and caught a game at every ballpark along the way!”
KC Dennehy: Woodland Park, Colorado
KC and her family stayed in a little cabin in the woods and explored the surrounding national forests of Woodland Park, Colorado. They stayed busy by hiking 7 Falls, visiting the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the Wolf Sanctuary, attending a Rockies baseball game, picking fresh raspberries and identifying fresh bear scat! KC most enjoyed “soaking up the fresh, chilly mountain air, reveling in the daily thunderstorms as they barreled down the canyon, savoring every minute of a simpler life with my growing children.”
Will Gibson: Bermuda
Will and his fiancé, Jeannie explored the island of Bermuda in their electric “twizzy,” exclusively ate seafood and indulged in local craft beverages. The highlight of their trip was snorkeling in Tobacco Bay.
