The PLUS team’s summer travel tradition continues with our fourth annual edition! Between projects and client work, our team carved out some well-deserved vacation time. From the mountains in Colorado to the vibrant shores of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, PLUS team members explored destinations near and far.

Beth Cubriel: Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico and Roatán, Honduras

Beth traveled with her husband, daughters, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law and her family to a tropical paradise, bringing together three generations of Cubriels to celebrate her nephew’s high school graduation. The group snorkeled, scuba dived, laid by the pool and read books. Beth especially loved introducing her 15-year-old daughter to the sport of scuba diving.

Bailey Sipes: Washington and California

This summer, Bailey traveled to California for her sister’s wedding and to Washington state to visit home. She and her boyfriend, Jake, began their trip in Los Angeles, making their way down to San Diego before heading to Temecula for the wedding. From there, they journeyed north to Vancouver, Washington, and explored Oregon’s hiking trails and Mt. Hood. The trip continued to Seattle, where Bailey revisited her alma mater, the University of Washington, and enjoyed being back in the city for the first time in five years. A highlight of the trip was introducing Jake to the Pacific Northwest – its mountains, waterways and hiking trails were a striking contrast to the East Coast.

Julia Caldicott: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Julia enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with her best friends from high school during a trip to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina!

Maddy Peterson: London, England

Maddy made the journey to London to attend Oasis’ reunion tour. The experience was nothing short of unforgettable!

KC Jones Dennehy: Colorado

KC hiked and biked all across the Centennial State with her husband, kids and dog. The highlight of their trip was e-biking through Vail!

Megan Williams: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Megan and her family relished a relaxing vacation to Cabo San Lucas. Megan’s favorite part of the trip was meeting the people, and she noted that everyone they met was so kind, and very tolerant of her “Spanglish.”

Clark Stuart: Australia

Clark traveled with his wife, their two kids and his wife’s extended family to Australia. They split their time between Sydney, the nation’s capital, and Cairns, known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Highlights included snorkeling and scuba diving at the Reef, exploring Australia’s unique wildlife, hiking in the world’s oldest rainforest and spending time around Sydney Harbor. The family also made a point to track down the best local food and take advantage of the country’s incredible outdoor activities.

Clark’s favorite moments were petting kangaroos and watching his toddler’s excitement while interacting with the animals. As for sights, Sydney Harbor stood out most, especially the Opera House, which impressed him even more than expected. With its mix of cityscape, harbor views and lush botanical gardens, the area left a lasting impression.

Holly Kapsimalis: Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Holly and her parents took in the breathtaking beauty of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. She enjoyed seeing the buffalo the most!

Alyssa Gruneberg: Rhode Island

Alyssa traveled to Rhode Island with her college best friend, Olivia, who was eager to show her around her home state since it was Alyssa’s first time visiting. They explored Providence before hopping on Olivia’s family boat and sailing to Newport. Once there, they rented a little green scooter car to tour the area, stopping at Fort Adams, Castle Hill Lighthouse and the famous Gilded Age mansions, including the Breakers, where The Great Gatsby was filmed. Along the way, Alyssa sampled some Rhode Island delicacies, from clam chowder and clam cakes to hot wieners and a classic New England lobster roll.

Yousra Errami: Barcelona, Spain and Rome, The Amalfi Coast and Venice, Italy

Yousra spent part of her summer traveling to Spain with her best friend and then to Italy with her siblings. The trips were filled with sightseeing, beach days and plenty of delicious food. With all of their tours, their steps added up to nearly 200,000! Her favorite part was taking in the stunning views, which she described as unlike anything she had ever seen before. Yousra especially enjoyed exploring the towns, immersing herself in the culture and cuisines and even practicing the language. A highlight was experiencing Spain’s tradition of “siesta,” when everything pauses for a midday rest – something she thinks the U.S. should definitely adopt.

Alyssa Brown and Mila Zaslavsky: Sicily, Italy and Greece

Alyssa and Mila spent some time adventuring through Sicily, Italy and Greece. In Sicily, they explored charming towns, enjoyed local cuisine, relaxed on the beaches, went horseback riding and visited Mount Etna, the island’s active volcano. Their travels continued in Greece, where they island-hopped to three destinations. Highlights included time on the beaches, sampling plenty of Greek food, taking a boat trip and riding ATVs across Mykonos.

Their favorite parts of the trip were the adventures they wouldn’t normally experience at home, especially horseback riding in Sicily and ATVing in Mykonos. And of course, the unforgettable sunsets made the journey even more special.

Julia Howell: Saint Lucia

Julia celebrated her honeymoon in Saint Lucia with her husband, enjoying the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Their trip included time on the beach, hiking, snorkeling, a sunset cruise, a food tour, mud baths and more. While she loved the entire experience, the sunset cruise stood out as an unforgettable highlight.

She traveled to Lake Geneva for a college best friend’s bachelorette party, Hampshire for her brother’s engagement, Chicago for another college best friend’s bachelorette and Tiffin for yet another college best friend’s wedding.
