Leigh joined PLUS Communications with over a decade of media relations, government and public affairs experience. Leigh got her start in the US House of Representatives for Congressman Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia as his official and campaign communications director, and deputy chief of staff. After he retired, she served as press secretary for US Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa, handling the senator’s state, agriculture, and defense media relations, as well as the famed 99 County Tour.
After nearly seven years in Congress, Leigh worked as a senior director of media relations and public affairs at the nation’s leading biofuels association, Growth Energy. There she helped manage nationwide public affairs and issue awareness campaigns, strategic engagement with media, and member communications.
Prior to joining PLUS Communications, Leigh was on the North American government and public affairs team at Shopify, a leading global e-commerce infrastructure platform. The newly-formed team built the foundation for Shopify’s US engagement, which included starting and running a small business advocacy group, directly lobbying Congress on small business and tech issues, coalition building, and communicating the team’s efforts to critical stakeholders both externally and internally.
Leigh is a native of Augusta, Georgia, and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in English.
