Brian Wanglin is a managing director at PLUS Communications. He manages public affairs campaigns and provides strategic advice that helps his clients achieve their crisis communications, reputation management, and public relations goals.
Prior to joining PLUS, Brian was an attorney at McGuireWoods in their White Collar and Government Investigations Department. In that capacity, he defended multinational corporations from government investigation, litigated complex commercial cases, and helped senior White House officials and members of Congress navigate complex ethics issues. Throughout his career, he has also worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, FP1 Strategies, the Republican National Committee, the United States Court of Federal Claims, Parliament (UK), and Senator McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign in various capacities.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, and a juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
What you may not know about Brian
As a child, Brian was an accomplished chess player, finishing runner-up in the 5th grade California State Chess Championship.
The day after taking the California Bar Exam, Brian went skydiving much to his family’s chagrin.
